As I had at The Hotel Cafe in Istanbul, this is a close approximation,
Spicy beef and egg breakfast
- Ground beef
- Old El Paso taco mix
- Green pepper, chopped into 1/2” dice
- Canned tomato.
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- Hot sauce
Cook the ground beef as per the Old El Paso instructions except cook the green pepper at the same time. And, instead of adding water at the end, add enough of canned diced tomato to make a stew.
Mix some hot sauce into the Mayonnaise to the desired level of heat.
When beef dish is fully cooked, and while it is still hot, put about 2 cups of it into an ovenproof serving dish. Crack two eggs on top. Place under a broiler on high until eggs are cooked to the desired doneness. Add a tablespoon of the spiced Mayonnaise on top of each egg. Serve with a couple of slices of hearty bread.
